Yea, that'd be great!  I managed to get one going last week!  The vamp was pretty new but she knew enough to survive so it ended up being a pretty fun time.

If we could get authorization with the bot to have it start running that's all we'd need. I could make sure it's back offline or I'd check on it regularly if we wanted to keep it up and running. I just miss this game, it was a great game when you got some good players going.

I'm not as good with the technical side of things, and it costs money for a good bot.

Isn't the VBL bot still active? I thought KJ paid in advance to keep it up for a number of years. It'd be a shame to waste it. Plus, if we can get his bot running again I bet we'd see him in a few games eventually too

he paid to rent the server for a long while, but judging from the fact that the bot is no longer hosting games, i would assume that time is up.

the bot program itself is free. its called ghost++. the servers to host it are not. you can choose to host it on your own computer if you so choose, but it might not be reliable and potentially prone to ddos

beast-bot is already up and running, we could just congregate there. Except there's only like 3 people who actually wanna play beast anymore.

Sc2 is definitely alive and well. New sc2 game coming out, one of the top games on twitch, I can actually find a game in like 30 seconds lol. sc2 is fun.

Legit question though, I've been researching and learning app development, and I have some serious ties to a big group of very smart computer scientists. If I could make vamp beast into an indie-style game without the stupid wc3 engine restrictions and game improvements and balances, how successful do you think it would be?

probably wont be successful. the golden era of war3 customs is over, and the only ones that broke out of war3 and became successful are legion td and dota.
